Construction in the Digital Age

UMinho and Grupo Casais launched the first Non-Academic Chair. This is a pioneering project in Portugal that focuses on areas such as robotics, additive manufacturing (3D printing in concrete), modularisation, prefabrication and integration with BIM models – essential pillars for more industrialised, efficient and circular construction. This research, ‘Construction in the Digital Age’, is funded by the FCT-Tenure programme of the Foundation for Science and Technology, and comes at a time of profound transformation in the architecture, engineering and construction sectors. The chair represents an investment by Grupo Casais and a strategic opportunity for ACTech Hub,  Lab2PT and EAAD, with the knowledge generated being applied to the development of innovative construction solutions that increase competitiveness in the national and international markets. link
