SIFA – SMART SYSTEM FOR ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING
SIFA is a project developed within the scope of R&DT Empresas em Copromoção, in a consortium constituted by Bosch Car Multimedia Portugal (main promoter); Distrim 2; Att-Advanced Tool Technology, Mota–Engil, University of Minho, Dtx – Collaborative Laboratory in Digital Transformation and Ceiia – Center for Engineering and Development. The SIFA project aims to reinforce research, technological development and innovation in Additive Manufacturing systems in ceramic, cementitious, metallic materials and polymeric, through Powder Bed and Material Extrusion technologies. Among others, the development of high-performance solutions and prototypes that use these technologies in the context of the automotive industry and architectural components in ceramic and cementitious materials.
In this context, at the premises of ARENA, at the School of Architecture, Art and Design of the University of Minho, critical knowledge is being developed, the refinement of formulation and technical specifications relating to Material Extrusion technology with ceramic and cementitious materials. As a result of research into new concepts in Additive Manufacturing systems and new technological solutions for Material Extrusion technology with ceramic and cementitious materials, prototypes such as the Hybrid Beam, Hybrid Columns and the Maritime Prototype are being developed. link
